Abstract
This study entitled The Effect of Brainstorming Technique on Speaking Ability in Class 10 SMA Yadika 13 Tambun which is intended to obtain empirical evidence and significant results regarding speaking ability in speaking class under time pressure. The population of this study were students in class 10 A (experimental class) and 10 B (control class) at SMK YADIKA 13, which consisted of 175 students. Only 42 were taken as samples from this study which were determined by using a non-probability/non-random sampling technique using quota sampling. researchers used brainstorming techniques compared to conservative techniques. The data collected was analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Special Sciences SPSS from this study showing that there was a significant influence between processing conditions on speaking ability in class 10 students at SMK YADIKA 13 Tambun. The results of this study are indicated by a t-test value of 10,258. This value indicates that there is a significant positive effect between processing conditions on students' speaking abilities. With a significant value obtained of 2,093, so 10,258 > 2,093, therefore, the conclusion that the brainstorming technique is effective in improving English speaking ability in the 10 th grade students of SMK YADIKA 13 Tambun Utara.
