Abstract
Transformers is a film by Michael Bay which was released in 2007 with a duration of approximately 2 hours and carries the action/sci-fi genre. In the Transformers film, there is a main character named Sam Witwicky, an ordinary young man who in the end must be caught in a conflict over the AllSpark cube between the Autobots and the Decepticons. The problems in this research are (1) How is the psychological condition of Sam Witwicky's character? Revealed in the Transformers film? and (2) How are the Id, Ego, and Superego that complement each other in the soul of the character Sam Witwicky revealed in the Transformers film? This research aims to determine the psychological condition experienced by Sam in the entire Transformers film scene and to find out how personality aspects such as Id, Ego, and Superego affect his every action shown in the Transformers film. The approach used in this research is a literary psychology approach. The data used in this research is a collection of scenes and dialogues contained in the Transformers film. Data collection techniques used in this research were observation and documentation. The data analysis used in this research is descriptive analysis. The results obtained from this research are (1) Sam Witwicky as the main character is described as having symptoms that refer to mental and psychological disorders, namely Agitation. Agitation makes Sam have a tendency to be angry, anxiety, and irritated. (2) Sam Witwicky's actions as the main character are also influenced by personality aspects such as the Id, Ego, and Superego. Id plays a role in creating Sam's stubborn, emotional, and lack of confidence. Ego plays a role in creating Sam's actions that are brave and far more rational. Superego plays a role in creating Sam's actions that are loving, caring, and willing to sacrifice.
