Abstract

The aim of this research is to find the deixis of temporal and place in the soundtrack of the film Clouds and to know the meaning of the deixis of temporal and place, as well as to describe the meaning of temporal and place in the film Clouds. This research applies a qualitative descriptive method. This research applies the theory of Huang and Levinson to the deixis of temporal and place. Based on the results of the research, from the data that has been selected, the temporal and place deixis found 37 data from a total of 12 songs. The results of the temporal deixis found as many as 25 data. Proximal 13 data and distal 12 data. While place deixis found as many as 12 data. Proximal deictic adverb 4 data, proximal demonstrative 5 data, distal deictic adverb 1 data, and distal demonstrative 2 data. All deixis of temporal and place are used to find out the meaning of the use of the deixis which does not dismiss the meaning of the pragmatic context used.
