Abstract
The aims of this research are to finding the characters of Theodore Finch in “All the Bright Places” movie and to find out how he experienced his emotions along the story with considering his psychological disorder which is bipolar disorder. Moreover, the researcher using descriptive qualitative method by watching the movie, do a screenshots or capturing the specific selected scene that represent characterization and emotion experienced of Theodore Finch as the object to analyzed. Basic characterization theory and James-Lange theory of Emotion was used in this research to do the psychological approach to the character. Through the data analysis, researcher found out that Theodore Finch portrayed as freak, silly, caring person, optimistic, quote lover and depressed. These various traits from the character helps researcher to identify and understanding the character before doing emotion analysis. Moreover, it is quite a bit to explain the character mental condition. Then after that researcher doing the emotion experienced analysis on Theodore Finch where researcher found it is visible in his experiences along the movie. They are, happiness, satisfaction, fear, anger and sadness. Theodore Finch experienced them because of three factors, his love to Violet, bullying, and his bipolar disorder. And last, from the two step of analysis researcher done, can be seen that Theodore Finch was deal with his bipolar disorder by himself and didn’t seek any proper help or medication that causing him committed suicide in the end.
