Abstract

This purpose of this research is to finding correlation between vocabulary ability and writing skill at Eleventh Grade of SMA Al Muhadjirin Bekasi. In completing this paper, the writer took the sample 30 students were taken as quota sampling from the population 46 students. The test is divided into vocabulary ability and writing skill. The implement of the research was conducted from May until July 2019. After completing the research, the data were analysed by using statistic technique with “Pearson Product Moment “formula to discover the result of experimental study. The result shows that there is a significant positive correlation between vocabulary ability (variable X) and writing skill (variable Y) with coefficient correlation robserved = 0.552 and rtable= 0.374. It means that robserved≥rtable= 0.552≥0.374, it can be concluded that there is a significant correlation between vocabulary ability and writing skill and coefficient of determination (KP) = 30.46%. Meanwhile 69.54% influenced by another factors such as the style of writing, writing strategy, and their knowledge.
