Abstract

This research aimed to know how glottalstop allophone happens in phoneme /p,/, /t/ ,/k/ in the initial, medial (before consonant or between vowels) and final positions contained in the three Ernest Heminway’s poetries, there is Advice To a Son, I Like Americans dan To Crazy Christian which is viewed from the point of view of phonoloy. The writer arranged this research from March to July 2019. The method here is descriptive qualitative where the main instrument used in this research is the writer herself was supported by miscellaneous references obtained from the books of either phonetic-phonology or methodology research, dictionaries showing phonetic trancription, and several supporting websites. This research explores about phoneme voiceles of allophone that can be glottalization in the three Ernest Hemingways poetries. The writer has classified and explained in detail the position dan pronunciations glottalstop allophone of phoneme /p/, /t/, /k/ in the three poetries. The interpretation data and analyses that the writer only took 12 data from the poetry Advice To a Son, 22 data from the poetry I Like Americans, and 6 data from poetry To Crazy Christian. Phoneme /p/ gets the amount 7,5%, phoneme /t/ gets amount 60%, and phoneme /k/ gets amount 32,5%. This analysis shows that the phoneme /t/ there is many in the three poetries.
