Abstract
This study discussed the hierarchy of human needs described in Inventing Anna (2022) produced by Shonda Rhimes. The aims of this research are: 1) to analyze the fulfillment of human needs in the main character in Inventing Anna and 2) to find out the characteristics of an self-realization in describing Anna Delvey. Qualitative methods are used in this research. The object data used in this study are 34 data in the form of visual data taken from the scene and verbal data in the form of the dialogue of the character Anna Delvey in the drama Inventing Anna. In this study, the authors used the theory of the hierarchy of needs put forward by Maslow (1970). The results showed: 1) the hierarchy of human needs that exist in Anna Delvey there are 5 needs, namely psychological needs, security needs, love and belonging needs, self-esteem needs, and self-actualization .2) there are 12 characteristics of self-realization that appear in Anna Delvey. The writer finds that in the case of this research, even though Anna Delvey is a fraud, Anna still has the desire to meet and achieve needs like humans in general. Anna Delvey has successfully fulfilled her 5 basic needs and achieved self-realization. The writer also finds that in view of this theory humans are creatures that are free to have needs. The needs that arise in Anna Delvey's real life and in the drama also show how much effort she has to fulfill her basic needs.
