Abstract
This study aims to find the triggers of the presuppositions, to describe the presupposition of utterances, and to classify the types of presupposition. The data source of the research is Agnez Mo’s utterances in the talk show with BUILD Series by Yahoo. The research uses a descriptive analysis qualitative research. The main theory of this research is theory of Stpehen C. Levinson by pragmatic approach. The result of the research shows that in the Agnez’s utterances consisted presupposition triggers. There are 35 triggers found in Agnez’s utterances. Moreover, the presuppositions contained in the utterances were to describe the existence of something, indicates the truth of something, the repetition of some events, show emphasize of information, and indicates the contrastive information. From thirteen types, the types of the triggers found in the utterances were only six types, namely Definite Descriptions with 21 occurrences or 60%, Implicit Cleft with Stressed Constituents with 6 occurrences or 17.14%, Cleft Sentences with 3 occurrences or 8.57%, Comparisons and Contrasts with 3 occurrences or 8.57%, Factive Verbs with 1 occurrence or 2.86% and the last Iterative with 1 occurrence or 2.86%. In the talk show, Agnez had a tendency to use possessive construction more frequently in the way she explained about herself, her works and where she came from.
