Abstract
This study aims to find the moral values of the songs based on the meaning of cognitive metaphors that contained in the song lyrics. The research subjects were 8 songs found in Hero album by Maren Morris. The research methodology is descriptive qualitative research. The main theory of this study is the Kovecses's theory about cognitive metaphors. The amount of data analyzed in this study is 20 data. This research also showed that there are several kinds of metaphors that found in Maren Morris song lyrics. The kind of metaphors that found in Maren Morris song lyrics were 5 data or 25% of ontological metaphors, 11 data or 55% of structural metaphors, and 4 data or 20% of orientational metaphors. The mapping and meaning component is used to analyze the meaning of cognitive metaphors. There are also the moral values in each songs were described by relating some metaphors meanings contained in each songs.
