Abstract
The aim of this research is to find the type linking sound and intrusive /r/ in the Britney Spears songs. This research applied descriptive qualitative method, while the data were collected by observing and reading thoroughly of each lyric in English songs by Britney Spears. This research applies the theory of phonetics theory Peter Roach, Skandera and Burleigh. As the results of representative data, the writer took thirty data from songs by Britney Spears. Which are 23 linking /r/, and 7 intrusive /r/. All of the linking /r/, and intrusive /r/ in this research are often used as a pronounced become easier, faster, and smooth. Based on the data, linking /r/, and intrusive /r/ can found in linguistic subfields, more exactly in phonology.
