Abstract
This study aims to analyze the symbols and meanings of the Illuminati symbols in the movie Angels and Demons (2009). The data objects used in this study are 14 Illuminati symbols contained in the movie. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative analysis method. The data analysis process is: (1) preparing the data, (2) analyzing the data, (3) discussing the data and finally (4) making data conclusions. The results of the research that has been carried out contain denotations, connotations and myths. The final result in writing a thesis that discusses the types of symbols. The author managed to analyze the final 14 data obtained from 1 movie Angels and Demons. The data includes 14 Illuminati symbol data in 2 symbol types. Conventional symbols with a total of 21.5% contain common symbols that are already known to many people. Then Personal symbols with a total of 78.5% contain symbols that are rarely known to the public, such as from certain religions. In short, researchers found signs in form and color that produce meaning in denotation, connotation and myth.
