Abstract

This paper aim to describe the importance of understanding English in Screening & Packing position within the OR, GKT Production department at PT NOK Indonesia. The writer observed from March 25 to June 25, 2024. The writer identified ten key terms related to the job, five of which were found contain redundant terminology, the terms are tear, scorching, patch, split, contamination, flowmark, compound deficiency, blister, over flow, and deformation. the study employs a qualitative analytic approach to explore the tasks performed during the internship. Notably, the study addresses the critical issue of understanding English terms in work instructions, identifying two significant problems, there are the difficulty in interpreting the double meanings of these terms and the challenge of accurately remembering each term. These issues were effectively managed through strategies such as summarizing meanings and making personal notes. Keyword: Production operator, working instruction, vocabulary, screening, defective.
