Abstract

This research analyzes the Netflix series entitled Strangers Things from a psychoanalytic perspective. The aim of this research is to identify the causes of unconscious motives that influence Eleven's behavior as the main character in the Stranger Things series (2022) as well as the impact of unconscious motives on the surrounding environment. In this research the author used qualitative methods and used Sigmund Freud's (1932) psychoanalytic approach theory using the concept of unconscious motives. There are 30 data objects used in this research in the form of verbal and visual data taken from scenes in Stranger Things: season four. The results of the research show: (1) there are 10 data on unconscious motives that influence Eleven's behavior and (2) 20 data on the impact of unconscious motives on characters.
