Abstract

This study aims to determine the Influence Using Duolingo Application Toward Vocabulary Improving Skill of The Eight Grade Students in SMPN 200 North Jakarta. The method in this study is pre-experimental with data collection techniques are pre-test and post-test. The author uses 30 students in this study with three meetings. Researchers found that duolingo applications can improve students vocabulary skills. The results of the study showed that the average value of students increased from 55.33 to 80.80. The hypothesis has been analyzed at a significant level of 0.05 and the results show that tobserved 11,537 ≥ 2,048 ttable and level of error (sig.2-tailed) 0,000 means that there are significant differences in the use of Duolingo applications (HO is rejected and HA is accepted) and Duolingo media applications can be used to improve student vocabulary. The researcher recommends that English teachers implemention the Duolingo application as a media for teaching English vocabulary because students are more interested in learning processes and activities.
