Abstract
The purpose of this research is to find out whether there are dialogs containing perlocutionary acts contained in the film Beauty and The Beast produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Mandeville Films. In addition, the writer also wants to identify the types of perlocutionary acts contained in the utterances in the movie. The theory that the writer uses is Leech’s theory in the types of perlocutionary acts and Yule and Searle’s theory for the types of illocutionary acts. This research uses qualitative method while data collection is done by identifying sentences that contain aspects of speech with actions so that they can be classified into types of perlocutionary actions in the movie Beauty and The Beast. As a result, there are 27 data, “Intended” contributed 81,5% (the highest proportion) with 22 data and “Unintended” type contributed 18,5% with 5 data (the lowest percentage).
