Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyse gender discrimination in the film Iron Jawed Angels through a feminist perspective. This study uses the theory of Scarlett Curtis taken from a book entitled Feminists Don't Wear Pink for a feminist approach. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques using documentation techniques. The data analysis technique uses content analysis techniques by analysing the scenes in the film. From the data that has been analysed, it can be concluded that Alice Paul fought for the amendment of the right to vote for women in Washington, United States. Many struggles and gender discrimination were experienced by Alice Paul and her female friends when she staged demonstrations.
