Abstract
The aim of this research is to find neologisms or new words and how the process of forming these words from tweets that are in the topic of technology on Twitter. In this research applied qualitative method, while the data were obtained by perusing words containing neologisms in tweets that were on the topic of technology. This research applies the neologism theory form Mattiello (2017) and several journals on new words to better understand them, and to determine word formation using theory from Lieber (2009) which is supported by the theory from Yule (2017). In this research, the writer found that there were 30 neologism words in the topic of technology. There are 8 types of word formation used in new words, they are: derivation, coinage, compounding, acronym, multiple process, blending, clipping, and borrowing.
