Abstract

This research aims to analyze of the Jack’s character. The subject of the research is the novel “Lord of the Flies” by William Golding. This novel was published in 1954. British Author William Golding wrote the critically acclaimed classic Lord of the Flies, and was awarded the Noble Prize-winning for literature in 1983. In 2008 by The Time, Golding rewarded as the Third of “The Greatest British writers since 1945 and bring him into the success. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative methodology. The main theory of this research are Peter Gay (1989) and Sigmund Freud (1960). The steps in analyzing the data include: (1) reading and understanding the novel (2) finding and note phrase or words (3) choosing and electing the data (4) analyzing the data (5) determining the data to related the problem (6) concluding the data. The results of the research shows that from the total of twenty five findings, there are seventeen of Id, five in Ego and three in Super ego.
