Abstract

This study is aimed to find out and analyze types of wordplay and translation strategy. The author found 40 data from movie Rio movie series. This author uses the theory of wordplay from Delabastita (1997) and Schoter (2005). This method of the research is qualitative research. The result of the data based on the author analysis, it is found some types and translation strategy in accordance with the source language. They are homonymy (7,5%), homography(2,5%), homophony(10%) and polysemy(75%). For translation strategy that found pun>pun (82,5%), pun->non-pun (10%) and pun ST = Pun TT(7,5%).
