Abstract

This research aims to find out the empirical data about effectiveness of Google Meet toward students’ vocabulary mastery. The population of this research is all students in the eighth grade of SMPN 9 Tambun Selatan. From 273 students, there are 30 students taken as research sample. This research method used a control class and an experimental class with pre-test and post-test. In each control class and experimental class there are 15 students who are taken using quota sampling technique. The data were collected and analyzed using Statistical Package for the Special Sciences (SPPS) version 22 and Microsoft Excel 2010. This research showed that the result of Paired Samples Test in experimental class is 6,875 with significance ttable 2,145 so tcount > ttable (6,875 > 2,145) with α = 0,05. Therefore, Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. It can be concluded that there is effectiveness of Google Meet toward students’ vocabulary mastery at eighth grade in SMPN 9 Tambun Selatan during Covid-19.
