Abstract
Abstract The objective of this study is to examine and identify the types of person deixis present in a YouTube video titled "Sabrina Carpenter Talks Short n' Sweet Album, Adele Singing "Espresso" and Jenna Ortega Cameo" on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon's YouTube account. The selection of this particular song is attributed to the recent surge in popularity of Sabrina Carpenter. This research is an extension of Cruse (2000) theory on types of person deixis and reference to person deixis. The utterances are analysed qualitatively, emphasizing the importance of understanding person deixis in a conversation. Using Cruse's theory, this research found a total of nine person deixis data along with their references. In this study, the author describes seven categories of data. The seven data described in this study are all categorized as third-person. . Key words: Sabrina carpenter, Cruse, Person deixis
