Abstract

The aim of this research is to find the types of Inflectional Morphemes in the Unbreakable Smile album of Tori Kelly through qualitative descriptive analysis. This research applied descriptive qualitative method, while the data were collected by reading and observing the words, phrases, sentences that contain Inflectional Morphemes in Unbreakable Smile album of Tori Kelly. This research applies the theory of Hudson and Fasold for inflectional suffixes kinds. As the results of representative data, the types of Inflectional suffixes found in the song album are 5 kinds of inflectional suffixes, 23 suffix –ing, 20 suffix plural –s, 2 suffix third person singular –s, 1 suffix –‘s, and 3 suffix –ed. There are 49 data found in the song lyrics. All of the inflectional suffixes kinds in this research are used to indicate verb tenses, plural noun, simple present for third person singular, and possessive of nouns that relate to word formation. Based on the data, the morphological changes present in the Inflectional morphemes in this research are the suffixes that attached to the words.
