Abstract

This research is aimed to know how to classify the allophone in the paper which entitled “Analysis of Allophone in the seven conversations books By N. Suntoro”. This paper presents the allophone [s] and [z] from phoneme /s/ and allophone [id], [t] and [d] from phoneme /ed/ in the conversations books by N. Suntoro. The implementation of this research is conducted from February to July 2017. This research uses the qualitative method as the procedures of the research. The method of the analysis data is as the following methods: (1) Preparation of collecting data, (2) process of collecting data, (3) sort data, (4) analyze data, and (5) drawing the data conclusion. According to the research classifying, there are 53 words containing the allophone [s] and [z] from phoneme /s/ and allophone [id] from phoneme /ed/, they are: in the conversations titles: Thousands of trees 8 (15,09%), What do you think about Puncak? 6 (11,32), A holiday resort 7 (13,20), By hiring a boat 6 (11,32), The seat of Mataram 5 (9,43), Yogya is bigger than Solo 12 (22,64), The Centre of local handicraft 9 (16,98). From the result the writer concludes that there are many words allophone in the conversations books and the most founded is allophone [s] and [z] from phoneme /s/.
