Abstract

This research aims to know the translation strategies of idiom in the novel cinder the lunar chronicles by Merissa Meyer which is translated by Yudith Listiadri. The object of research is idiom in the version of English and Indonesia. This research uses qualitative research. The result of this research which analysed by translation strategy of idiom that are recommended by Baker (2010). The results of the research from the total of 41 idioms the based of the scope, there are 2 data which use idiom of similar meaning and form or about 5%, 2 data which use idiom of similar meaning and dissimilar form or about 5%, and the last 37 Data which use translation by paraphrase or about 90%.
