Abstract

The purpose of this research to explained of slang expression meaning. Subject of research is “This is England” Film by Shane Meadows. This research used method qualitative descriptive. The writer collects the data through literature studies and libraries. This research applied theory Eric Partridge (1979) in analyzing. The process analyzing data is collecting data in films related to slang language, analyzing the data by describing the conditions in the film section, searching for the definition of data needed in the dictionary used as the main source. Determine the data found included in the category of kinds of slang. Then make a conclusion. The writer found 25 as a main data in the films. Category of Society founded seventeen data (68%), Category of Publicity one data (4%), Category of Cockney four data (16%), Category of Public School & University one data (4%), the last is combining 2 categories of Cockney and Sport & Games one data (4%).
