Abstract

This research aimed to know three kind of deixes in the sentences, they are demonstrative, social, and tenses deixes which consisted in the “Daddy” novel by DanielleSteel. The writerarranged thisresearch from February tillJuly2019. The method used is descriptive qualitative with the main instrument in this research is thewriter herself with supported by various references obtained from thebooks of either linguistics especially semantics or research methodology, and several supportingwebsite. Theinterpretationdataand analyses thatwriter tookis40data from 5 chapter from chapter 1 to 5 of “Daddy” novel by Danielle Steel. The writer found demonstrative deixes 10 data with percentage is 25%, social deixes 13 data with the percentage is 32.5%, and Tenses deixes 16 data with the percentageis42.5%.
