Abstract
The aims of this research are: (1) to analyze and interpret the impact of capitalism in society which is contained in all the characters, events and dialogues in the film The Young Karl Marx. (2) to analyze and interpret how far capitalism affects society is contained in all the characters, events and dialogues in the film The Young Karl Marx. The data objects used in this study were 30 data in the form of verbal data in the form of dialogues of all the characters who do and feel the effects of capitalism in the film The Young Karl Marx. In this study the writer used qualitative methods. The results showed: (1) there are 4 fields in society that feel the impact of capitalism which include the formation of a class of society which consists of 17 data, exploitation of women which consists of 5 data, the economic field which consists of 4 data and the political field which consists of 4 data. In this study, the writer uses the theories proposed by Stephen Saphiro (2008) and Michael Wayne (2012). (2) the impact of capitalism was depicted through all the characters that appear in the film. Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels worked together to fight for the justice of the proletariat or the working class. Jenny, who fights for women's rights and Mary Burns who feels the injustice of the lives of women workers. Ermen Engels and Mr. Naylor as the owner of a company that runs capitalism in the bourgeois class or as a capitalist actor. The workers who feel the economic difficulty of life are under the control of the bourgeoisie and the regulation of the government.
