Abstract
The aim of this research was to find variations and causes of borderline personality disorder in the movie Wreck-It Ralph 2012 and to identify the relationship between borderline personality disorder and literary studies. The writer collected data for this research using qualitative methods, which involve watching, marking, understanding, and classifying dialogue and gestures that referred to borderline personality disorder in the movie Wreck-It Ralph 2012. This research used Millon's theory for borderline variations and Smith's theory for borderline causes. The data results showed that there are 3 discouraged, 5 impulsive, 3 petulant, and 3 selfdestructive borderline versions in the movie. Meanwhile, the data result show that borderline behavior is influenced by 6 social and cultural elements and 7 psychological factors. Borderline variations allow everything to intersect between one variation and another, as well as several borderline causes, enabling the reader to understand the events that befall the main character.
