Abstract

The research aims to know the roles of editor of Mediamaz Translation Service in the Service Industry located at Jl. Imam Bonjol Ruko Perkantoran No.27 RT.001/RW.002, Karawaci, Kec. Karawaci, Kota Tangerang, Banten 15113, and conducted from 1 June 2024. Mediamaz Translation Service is chosen for its credibility and quality since it has operated for over 26 years which makes this company trustworthy. Besides, it is carried out to find out the roles of the editor, to identify the obstacles, and to discover the solutions. To achieve the objectives, the method is a qualitative method by observation and documentation. Furthermore, this research finds 3 roles of the editor, namely as a gatekeeper, language therapist, and translator. Then, the results show that the roles of the editor are really necessary to correct the translated document in the aspect of consistency, accuracy, and clarity so that there are no mistakes since the translator often errs in the process of translating.
