Abstract
This research aims to analyze the idiom with identified the types and also find the meaning of song lyrics in the album entitled “The Show” by Niall Horan. This research is using the theory of Boatner and Gates (1975) to categorize the types of idiom and to describe its meaning. Then the meaning of the idiom found is taken from several dictionaries. The method used in to analyze the data is qualitative method. Meanwhile, the data taken is a form of word and phrase. Next, there are 40 data found from 10 songs in the album. Associated with the types, the analysis shows that there are 7 types of idioms that are 23 idioms of verbal, 4 idioms nominal, 2 idioms adjective, and 4 idioms of adverbial, then 5 idioms of phraseological idiom, 1 idiom of frozen idiom, and 1 idiom of proverbs.
