Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find the middle and final positions in relative clauses and to identify complex sentences in adjective clauses. This study applies a qualitative method, while the data is obtained by reading carefully, observing the words, sentences, and clauses that contain relative clauses in the novel. This study uses Yule's theory to determine the middle and final positions in relative clauses which are explained by Yule's theory. Based on the selected data from The Bridges of Madison County, it was found that the most types of relative clause ending positions were found. All of the research found is generally used to find out each position in the complex sentence.
