Abstract

This study aims to analyses Prepositional phrases in political news of the CNN news. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The war is happening between Ukraine and Russia is currently the center of world attention, especially the United States. This is what makes it a hot topic to discuss. However, this study will not discuss literacy but it will be discussed syntactically. This study raises the use of prepositional phrases in the current polemic between Ukraine and Russia but not in general. This study only raises the view of Joe Biden as president of the United States in response to the conflict between Ukraine and Russia. In this prepositional phrase research, the researcher will only focus on the type of prepositional phrase used in a sentence. This is due to the presence of 5 types of prepositional phrases, namely spatial spectrum, time spectrum, purpose spectrum, agentive spectrum and prepositional meaning. This type of prepositional phrase is based on the use of the prepositional phrase in a sentence.
