Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the morphological process of multiple affixations found in the MANDALIKA MotoGP news article on the tempo news February 2022 edition and to identify changes in the form of word classes that change from the lexeme form to multiple affixations. This study applies a qualitative descriptive method, while the data is obtained by reading carefully and observing words that show the form of multiple affixations found in the MANDALIKA MotoGP news article at the tempo news February 2022 edition. This study applies the theory from Katamba and stonham regarding the morphological form of multiple affixation and Ingo Plag (2018) word formation in English which explains the process of word formation and word classes. Researchers used qualitative data in research methods based on descriptive data through observation and documentation. The analysis in this study looks for data in the form of words that undergo a multiple affixation process, this affects the intent of the words to be conveyed to readers in articles at tempo news. Various forms of affixation are attached to a word in the form of multiple affixations. Such as the addition (prefix) to a base and lexeme words, the addition of insertions (infixes) in the middle of the word or the addition of insertions at the end of words (suffixes). The addition of affixes to a base and word lexeme also affects the form of the previous word class into a new word class such as (noun), (adjective), (verb), (adverb), (pronoun), (prepsition), (conjunction) and (interjection).
