Abstract

The purpose of this research was to discover what feminism is reflected in Emilie as the main character, and how many types of feminism contained in the novel Notes to Self by Emilie Pine. This research applied qualitative descriptive methods, while the data could be obtained from reading carefully and observing sentences and paragraph containing feminist thoughts in the novel Notes to Self. This research used the feminism theory by Rosemarie Tong (2009). Based on the results of the selected data, the feminism reflected in Emilie is liberal feminism, and 8 types of feminism were found including liberal feminism, radical feminism, Marxist feminism, psychoanalytic feminism, care-focused feminism, multicultural, global, and postcolonial feminism, eco-feminism, and postmodern and third wave feminism.
