Abstract
The aim of this research is to find the mother and daughter node in simple sentence. A simple sentence is a sentence that contains one independent clause. The object that the writer used is from short story which has the title the jungle book by Rudyard kipling. The theory that the writer use is from Crystal to know about the mother and daughter node in simple sentence. This research applied qualitative method, while the data were collected by identify mother, daughter, and node in simple sentence from the jungle book short story. As the result, there are 21 data, 140 terminal nodes, and 73 non-terminal nodes that the writer found in the jungle book short story.
