Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find words that are included in the criteria of nonneutral suffixes. The qualitative method was applied in this study, by obtaining data from the novel, then taking the words included in the non-neutral suffixes in it, and analyzing these words with the Cambridge and Oxford dictionaries as a reference. Information from this dictionary is used to verify the meaning, pronunciation and spelling of the data found. This study applies the theory of Katamba (1993 & 1994) Ingo (2003) and Bauer (2007). Based on the results of data analysis, some words that are included in the criteria for non-neutral suffixes founds in this novel are {-ic}, {-ian}, {-ity}, {-ify} {-ous}, and {-ive}. Thus, found 20 words that are included in the non-neutral suffixes.
