Abstract

This study aims to find out idiomatic translation and the types of idioms in the Spider-Man No Way Home film. This study is a qualitative descriptive method. Meanwhile, the data for this study were obtained from watching the Spider-Man No Way Home film. This study applies the theory of Seidl & M.C Mordy for the types of idioms, and Larson for the idiomatic translation. After finding the idioms, the idioms are assigned to the types of idioms. For the largest percentage, the writer finds 17 datum phrasal verbs with a percentage of 68%. The second largest is verbal idioms with a percentage of 12% with a total of 3 data. Furthermore, idioms with prepositions and idioms with nouns and adjectives have the same percentage of 8% with a total of 2 data. Then for idiomatic pairs, it has a percentage of 4% with a total of 1 data. Meanwhile, for 3 data such as idioms with keywords from special categories, keywords with idiomatic use, and idioms with comparisons, there is no data found in these three categories with a percentage of 0%. All types in this study are shown as examples of idiomatic translation from English to Indonesian.
