Abstract
This study aims to determine the use of slang in a film is "22 Jump Street" from America. This research leads to an understanding of slang language that is often used by Americans. This research is a qualitative descriptive. In the data analysis, slang languages are classified according to the kinds of slang, then the data will be analyzed using qualitative methods as well as understanding to sociolinguistic approach. While the object data taken in the research with the amount of data analyzed as many as 38 data, from the results of data entering several classifications and kinds of slang, the writer found the percentage of data discovery that there are three kinds of classification slang. The results of the data found have a percentage yield of each classification of the tube. The first highest percentage was found in the Slang classification in Areas of Everyday Life of 53%, the second percentage was found in The Language of Particular Groups classification of 35% and the latter was found from the Slang of Particular Places and Times classification of 12%. That is the result of the discovery of data about the classification contained in 22 Jump Street film by Jonah Hill.
