Abstract
This research aimed to know cultural word in translation strategy domestication and foreignization in The Last Star novel by Rick Yancey. The writer arranged this research from March to July 2019. The method here is descriptive qualitative where the main instrument used in this research is the writer herself was supported by miscellaneous references obtained from the books of translation or methodology research, dictionaries, and several supporting websites. This research explores about cultural word that used in domestication and foreignization strategy.. The writer has classified and explained in detail the categories of cultural word and translation strategy of domestication and foreignization. The interpretation data and analyses that the writer only took 25 data from the The Last Star Novel. Domestication strategy gets the amount 20%, foreignization gets the amount 80% . This analysis shows that the foreignization strategy is many in the Last Star novel.
