Abstract
This study is aimed to explain about kinds of translation method are used in the translation of hyperbole sentence in The Twilight Saga of Breaking Dawn 1 novel by Stephenie Meyer into its translation, Awal Yang Baru by Monica Dwi Chresnayani. This research uses the theory of translation methods from Peter Newmark. The writer takes 30 data from the novel The Twilight Saga of Breaking Dawn 1 and its translation. The research was carried out by taking several steps. (1) choosing the sentences containing hyperbole from the novel The Twilight Saga of Breaking Dawn 1 and its translation, (2) determining hyperbole in a sentence, (3) analyzing the data and determining what translation method to use. The writer uses as many as 30 data consecutively to be analyzed and found as many as 6 translation methods out of 8 available translation methods. The six methods of translation are 2 data of word-for-word translation, 4 data of literal translation, 1 data of faithful translation, 3 data of semantic translation, 4 data of free translation and 16 communicative translation.
