Abstract
The purpose of this study is to find out the meaning of denotation and connotation contained in the Covid-19 news, especially in the news about vaccines in The Jakarta Post newspaper. This study applies a qualitative descriptive method, while the data is obtained by reading carefully and observing words that contain other meanings in the news in The Jakarta Post newspaper. This study applies Leech's theory to find the meaning of denotation and connotation with the theory of 7 types of meaning. Based on the results of the study, researchers have found 22 data stating that journalists use words that are not agreed terms or words that have other meanings from dictionaries spread in the December 2021 edition.
