Abstract

The form that exists in Indoglish is a combination of English and Indonesian. Mixing one language with the other languages, in sociolinguistics field it called by code mixing. The indoglish phenomenon is often found in South Jakarta. Therefore, the researcher conducted this research using a descriptive qualitative method by using the types of code mixing. In collecting the data, this research utilized an interview method by using theory the types of code mixing, by Hoffman’s theory which are divided into three, and to classify the data in the levels of code mixing, the Researcher employed Suwito’s theory which is divided into six levels. After analyzing the result data of interviewing, the researcher found two types of code mixing, namely Intra Sentential code mixing with 20 data types of Word, and 15 data types of phrases. And Intra-lexical code mixing finds one kind of suffix. For levels of code mixing, the researcher found 20 data in the word level category, 13 data in the phrase level category, 1 data in the Baster level category, 1 repetitive data, and 1 data in the clause level category. The researcher also found reasons and factor the teenagers in South Jakarta often using Indoglish Language, such as according to a prestigious college, a way to adapt, wanting to be seen as middle class and above, following lifestyle, and trends. Meanwhile, the motivating factors are participants, solidarity, social context, and prestigious usage.
