Abstract

The aim of this research is to find the allomorph in the short story by T. Albert and to find the interaction between morphology and phonology in allomorph creation through specific condition which is phonologically conditioned. This research is apply descriptive qualitative method, while the data were collected by close reading and observing the words that contains inflectional suffixes in the short story “The Flower Garden” by T. Albert. This research apply the theory of Katamba for analyze the regular plural nouns and regular verbs. As the result of representative data, the allomorph found in the short story are 17 the regular plural nouns and 23 the regular verbs. All of the words in this research are often used in daily life, so it is easier for the readers to understand. Allomorph creation can be solved using a specific condition as the result of the interaction between morphology and phonology which has right about sound, and it is called phonologically conditioned.
