Abstract

This research focuses on the syntactic structure of noun phrases in Niall Horan's "The Show: Live on Tour" video using Noel Burton-Roberts' theoretical framework. The purpose of this study is to identify the underlying structures of the noun phrases utilized in the video. The method used is qualitative research paired with descriptive analysis, with data gathered through interviews, field notes, and document analyses. The data was then analyzed with tree diagrams to discover noun phrase patterns. The analyzed finds that the video's have 11 noun phrases contain a variety of structures, including empty determiners in datun 1, NP=Det+N refer to datum 5, NP=Det+N+PP refer to datum 2, NP=Det+AP+N refer to datum 3, NP=Det(Poss) +AP+N+PP refer to datum 4, and NP=Det(Dem)+N+N refer to datum 5.
