Abstract
The purpose of this research aimed at knowing whether there is significant correlation between reading comprehension and translation ability for the students at seven grades in SMP Islam Al Mukmin, located at Sukaragam, sukaragam, kec. Serang Baru, kabupaten Bekasi, West Java (17330). The population of the research is 57 students and 30 students are taken as samples from this research determined by random sampling technique used quota sampling. The collected data were analyzed using Statistical Package for the Special Science (SPSS) 21 by using the correlation “product moment pearson” instrument. There was significant correlation between students’ using reading comprehension and translation ability in seven grade students of SMP Islam Al Mukmin. The result of this research is robserved ≥ rtable, 0,677 ≥ 0,05. Therefore the conclusion obtained is Ha is received. It means there is a significant correlation between reading comprehension and translation ability.
